Just watched and Banks is really impressive as hell at getting to the basket and passing.  Teams are gonna have to worry about our bigger guys, Domask and Harvey hitting outside shots and Lance Jones and Banks swarming to the rim.  This is gonna be fun.  Not worried about the free throw shooting, Banks seems like a hard worker and I'm sure he'll improve.

That's kinda how I felt about it as well, along with the outside shooting.  He's already proven to be fully vested in the program, so I anticipate he will be working his butt off this summer !!!

Banks  goes for 46 points, 6 assists and 6 rebounds. I think we might have a good one here.

Kind of get the feeling that if there is only one scholarship available we will go after a power 5 transfer for our big man again.  Makes sense, we made need someone proven to go with what looks to be a championship contender.

I finally found some actual stuff on Eric Butler:

https://www.prephoops.com/2020/02/standouts-2020-ars-rescue-rooter-national-hoopfest/

Eric Butler & Terrance Reese (Orlando Christian Prep)

Alongside sophomores Allen-Lubin and Brown, 2020 guard duo Eric Butler and Terrance Reese did a ton of dirty work for Orlando Christian Prep, combining for 21 points in the second half. Butler, a 6’3″ Southern Illinois commit had 11 points and seven boards which included a tough finish at the glass in the last few minutes. Reese, a 6′ guard was equally as impressive when it mattered most, scoring 10 points on 4-of-4 shooting. He connected on some essential 3’s and drives inside. Both players are important factors to Orlando Christian Prep’s success and overall ball movement.

Given the options we should have at guard next year, do we anticipate either Banks or Butler, or both, redshirting?

No shot I’d redshirt Banks

Whether Cook returns is a large factor here because if he does, he’ll play 35 mpg as the lead guard.

Agree, I think, based on what I've seen. I hope we redshirt Butler, especially if Cooks gets a medical redshirt and comes back. Would be nice to get back to where we're redshirting 1-2 freshman every season.

I watched the Banks game.  I can see why he is so excited to come to SIU.  He had NO help the majority of that game.  Like others said, great speed/ballhandling/passing, average defense, shot needs refining.  Looking forward to full court bounce passes to Jones in transition and vice versa.

Dalton with 28pts 10rbs & 5 assts last night in his teams loss.   He, once again, struggled from 3pt range going 0-8.  He did hit 8 of 11 FT's though.  When this kid improves his outside shot, he is simply going to be a beast.  My guess is he will NOT redshirt as this team needs a true PG.

Dalton Banks with 36 points, 16 boards, 4 assists and 4 steals tonight. Man, that dude can ball. He’s probably a strong candidate for Wisconsin Mr. Basketball this year. Keep the Wisconsin pipeline coming to SIU!!

A 6'1 guard getting 10+ rebounds almost every game reminds me a lot of Jeff Early.  Having a guard that can fight for rebounds with the big guys is such an advantage.

He was going to finish in the top 3 but is making a huge push to take the title all for himself.

Last night he hit 4-8 from 3pt range which has been one of the areas where improvement was needed.
