Ran across this late yesterday evening: Zane Butler 6'0" PG from Greene County Tech HS (Paragould, AR) will take an unofficial visit to Southern Illinois August 19.
Paragould is just up the road from Jonesboro, Ben Harvey's home town.

“I’ve been over there a couple of times, so I knew what to expect a little,” says Williams. “Everything went as expected. I had a great time and have a great feel for the players and a relationship with the coaches there.”
Williams, who has an official visit set up at Akron the weekend of Sept. 6-8, took an unofficial visit to Southern Illinois on Tuesday. As a result, the Salukis and first-year coach Bryan Mullins have made inroads with one of the City/Suburban Hoops Report’s top 10 prospects in the Class of 2020.
“I’m glad I made the trip there,” Williams said of the visit to the Carbondale campus. “It was better than I expected, and I really enjoyed it.”
The versatile 6-3 guard says he has a visit lined up at Northern Iowa for late September."

No doubt a referral from Barry. Seriously, I participated in a little Saluki event the other day where BM and the rest of coaching staff were present. Bryan made a short “speech”, said SIU is going to recruit the entire country for players who come from winning programs, and will fit the style of play and the new culture of SIU basketball. I have a very, very, very good feeling about the direction of the program.

Very impressed with Sam Godwin's potential! I am just as impressed with his Point Guard, #20, Jordan (JT) Thompson! The video linked is from their 17U AAU Team Buddy Buckets. Godwin and Thompson also play on the same high school team together, Southmoore, Moore, OK. There has always been something to say about players that have years of experience playing together. Bryan experienced that special connection with Clayton Custer and Ben Richardson at Loyola. One cool highlight is at the 1:25 mark when Thompson finds Godwin on a loose ball recovery. I would think they would make a very good packaged deal!! Three D2 schools have already offered both players.

Edit: Team Buddy Buckets posted an update on the above linked tweet that corrects Sam Godwin's height to 6'9" with a 7 foot wingspan. The correction was dated August 10, 2019 and read that the measurements were made at the CBB Academy.
