Man, Mullins is really hitting Canada hard.
Filewich will be an incoming freshman, right? I couldn't find much info on him with a quick search.
Filewich is official

JERSEY ORDERED 25 WINS LETS GO
Bow Em
I think this guy is going to bring some ATTITUDE that the Salukis really need ala Tony Young. In one of his video he flexes on the opposing team after a dunk. I love that killer attitude. He is going to be a player the rest of the MVC hates.
JD and Filewich both mocked up in No. 21 lol. Must be a popular Canadian number. They will have to wrestle for it in practice. Will Keller also has it already.
Oh Canadaaaaaa
We stand on guard for thee.
Gonna need a maple leaf flag for the Banterrena.
Like the way things are trending. Keep'em coming.
March on triumphantly!
Interesting that three of SIU's four spring signees so far are international players.
As for Filewich, my sense is he either will redshirt or would be used in spot duty, depending on matchups, as a freshman, unless there are injuries or he shows up in Carbondale a lot more polished and in better shape than I'm anticipating. It does seem like he has the work ethic/drive to match the Mullins culture, so hopefully he develops over the course of his career to be a handful in the paint.
Two rides left: hoping for a transfer guard and athletic wing, but, since it's NFL Draft week, best player available is usually a good approach.
well, I guess that answers my questions. I agree with Bleedin that he is a bit of a project and it would be nice if he crew a couple inches taller. either way I am very happy with this team they are putting together. It has been something to watch.
Those wondering if our coaching staff is addressing class balance might note that our frontcourt now has four scholarship players: a Freshman, a Sophomore, a Junior, and a Senior. Welcome Kyler!
I'm back suckas.
Tony Boyle...
i remember the night we met mr. boyle.
Watched Kyler Filewich's videos. He's not especially quick, but he seems to have good hands, a nice touch around the basket, and has that court awareness that good passers have (like Krutwig.) Made some impressive passes in the vids I saw.
I could see him being a very good MVC post player in a few years! May have to import a lot of Walleye from Manitoba to feed him though! Big dude!
Now if he can grow an inch or three!!!!!
Might be playing a lot of zone D...
Well our frontcourt situation sure has done a 180 the last couple weeks - welcome Kyler!!
Filewich is going to be a beast. Two schollies still open. I'd like to see us focus on a grad transfer point guard and an athletic prep swing man. Or something like that...
