Watched Kyler Filewich's videos. He's not especially quick, but he seems to have good hands, a nice touch around the basket, and has that court awareness that good passers have (like Krutwig.) Made some impressive passes in the vids I saw.
I could see him being a very good MVC post player in a few years! May have to import a lot of Walleye from Manitoba to feed him though! Big dude!
Now if he can grow an inch or three!!!!!
According to SIU MBB release he already has grown an inch 6'9"!!!!
I’m good with the KF signing. He’s not the second coming of Dearman or Amaya but BM is putting together a 13 man team not necessarily a team of 13, 3-star recruits. Every team can use a 6”8 230 pound bruiser. I see him as a Lucas O’Rear type. He a little bigger but not quite as offensively skilled around the basketball yet.
Lucas O'Rear! Thank you I couldn't remember his name but yeah I see that as well.
Too early to take a guess which of these signings will be the best of the bunch? I say Verplancken.
JD and Filewich both mocked up in No. 21 lol. Must be a popular Canadian number. They will have to wrestle for it in practice. Will Keller also has it already.
Filewich wore jersey # 14 in High School at Vincent Massey. He wore # 21 for his year at Orangeville Prep
Didn't we have a 6'6-6'8 big boy a few years back in that kinda mold?
Welcome Canadian Dawgs... One more on the way, aye?

My biggest concern when all the transfers were released: Replace them with upgrades and hopefully considerable upgrades. I think so far, we have done that by far. If you look at the three announced additions so far as replacing Gooch, Francois and Jeremic, I think we have improved by leaps and bounds. It's a little tougher to replace proven seniors like Cook, Benson, McGill and Suggs, so that's where you hope for Banks and Butler to grow into some day. The only X-factor so far with who we have to replace is Davis, who IMO had the highest upside of those transferring out and who we need still need to recruit to fill the void (big guard/wing).

His High School, Vincent Massey, had him at 6'8". His Prep School, Orangeville Prep had him listed at 6'9". He may have grown an inch between seasons or Orangeville may have embellished a little. Ha
I believe he will be a very good player in the Valley. I also believe that a red shirt would be good for him and class balance. That opinoin will greatly depend on who fills the remaining two scholarships.

Could have been 6'8" Josh Warren too. From video, Filewich seems to have better moves on the floor than I remember Warren having.

I think I am. Just took a trip down memory lane of past players/recruits. ALA the Nick Evans Era
I know there was talk that we backed off Jeremiah Williams, but he sure would be a good get to round out this class along with an experienced pg.

If Vernplancken is available next year (pending the rule change) I believe he could be that guy.
