Scout's Take: Willis is a smooth scoring guard who is a threat at all three levels. He has a great understanding of how to create his own shot off the bounce. Willis is additionally a good athlete who is more athletic and explosive then he appears at first glance. He plays with a lot of natural poise and is very hard to speed up or rattle. Expect his advances to come quickly and that he distinguish himself as a mid-plus to high-major player.
So far, the 6-foot-3 scoring combo guard out of Sulphur Springs has heard from the likes of Georgia State, Louisiana Tech, Murray State, North Texas, South Alabama, Temple, Texas State, UT-Arlington, UTSA, and many more.
With his resume and ability to fill it up, Willis should attract a few high major programs looking for a score-first guard.

Think Ben Harvey can help with recruiting?

He's pretty athletic and explosive at 6'6". Can play PG or SG. Could be a very nice compliment at PG to Banks, moving Jones to SG.
@salukiworld He was a Juco transfer the year after Harvey left so they didn't play together. Although Ben may have met him on a campus visit when they were recruiting him.

Evanston won with a buzzer beater by Princeton commit Blake Peters so Notre Dame is done unfortunately
Ebube's season is over too. Mundelein was missing Enright, the Drake commit to injury and Ebube got in foul trouble early.
Well that was ANTICLIMATIC, wasn't' it ?? !!

Yeah sucks, wish they had more big games this year. Foster Wonders still has a lot of games left assuming his team goes far in the playoffs.

Plenty of higher level D1 transfers I'm MUCH more interested in than this young man. Why not go after Gooch while we're scouring D2 players 🙄 ??

This is a really bad hot take if I’ve ever seen one. There are d2 players being recruited by blue blood teams.

Agreed we need size and athleticism . We are extremely undersized.

And I assure you that neither Gooch NOR Conley Garrison are 2 of them. The chances are OBVIOUSLY better with proven D1, or proven JUCO, xfers vs D2 transfers. Take a look at the pre and post season top transfers based on statistics. I think this team, especially considering they are under .500 in the first 2 seasons, is better off staying away from trying to find diamonds in the rough and instead trying to get top JUCO's and D1 players in the transfer portal. I also think that 90% of the people here would agree.
@insaluki there’s also a lot of really good athletic players in d2 that can make the jump. It’s not what I would do but if a player is better in d2 than a d1 kid I’m not gonna hesitate because of the division. I also think what you consider athletic is really high standards until they prove you otherwise. Elija child’s could come here and I’d hear he’s slow lol
