Defense optional sure, but offense should be exciting. Wright St was 34 this year on ken pom in adj offense. (SIU was 115)

He must care at least a little about defense if they reached out to Kennard, lol! I don't think we have to worry about the X's and O's part with Nagy. He's widely respected as a great coach. It will be his recruiting and ability to work the portal that will define his success or failure. I like the hire today, let's see what kind of staff he puts together. His first calls should be to Davis, Hensley, Ferguson, Ebube and Rupert. They need to get his staff in place and hit that portal hard. I'd like to see him bring Brandon Noel and Alex Huibregtse along with his 3 commits with him!
Wright State board seems to think that his associate head coach Clint Sargent will be named head coach so he'll have an open spot on his staff, really 2 open spots because Mullins had 4 assistants and he had 3 at Wright State.

Looks like Trice, one of the other assistants, was a high school coach in Dayton, so questionable if he'd be as good of a fit here. We'll find out what Nagy things soon enough.

I have a funny feeling this thread won’t get much play from the doom-and-gloomers who told us our AD is incompetent and should be fired, our chancellor is a micro-manager who was going to ensure “his guy” got hired, SIU doesn’t have the budget to compete in a coaching search, and no one wants to coach in Carbondale, anyway.
