Not sure how much SIU is in on the recruits mentioned on this board, no one has a real source and a lot of these offers were made last summer. Things can change rapidly in the recruiting world both for the school and a recruit. With Grad transfers and true transfers increasing every year Maybe SIU is looking in that direction. Hefferman wrote an article today that SIU has missed on a lot of recruits. Since he is getting his information from the internet and not a true inside source no one is really sure which recruits SIU truly missed on and which one they didn't. I truly feel we will have a true picture on the recruiting front by the end of April or the beginning of May.
I wondered if Heff got his information from the coaching staff or if he is like everyone else and wandering around twitter, VC etc to get his information.

Yeah, I was trying to figure out who this is and I couldn't find anything. All I got was a Malik from Quartz Hill High School in California
This is not a 2020 recruit guys. It is Malik Morris from Quartz Hill HS in Lancaster, Calif.
Hefferman mentions the kids we lost to Oregon State and Ole Miss/Cal/Buffalo in his article. Would have been nice to get them but those aren't really recruiting misses. Coulibaly would be a pretty big miss if they were actually recruiting him but I'm not so sure how serious they were there. It's possible we're in a holding pattern right now as kids look to see what the high major programs do.
Hefferman mentions Adong Makuoi (6'9 Sophomore Daytona State), Steven Verplancken Jr. (6'4 Sophomore Glenville State), Amar Brown (6'8 Veritas Prep), Jayden Johnson (6'6 Batavia High School) as possible recruits.
I just find it funny that everyone says we missed on this recruit and we missed on that recruit. However we have no real source of information to back it up with . Is it me or does Hefferman seem to be harsher on Mullins than he ever was with Hinson?
Yes, in my opinion he does. I think he was a big fan of BH. Can’t remember ever seeing anything remotely negative about BH from Heff.
One thing to keep in mind, bm is going after players that some larger schools are also after and he's not going to get all of them. However, in basketball it doesn't take very many players to make a big difference. I trust he will get it done.
Great perspective ! Just four recruits started SIU on a path of greatness. Williams/Dearman/Brooks/Hairston. Neither were highly recruited out of high school but later we found, they had the skills for success. We already have one and possibly two of the pieces needed in Domask and possibly Jones & Harvey. BM and all of us know, we need athletic big and some big guards/wings who can defend and score some. Can’t get hung up on the guys we are missing but just the 2-3 recruits that are going to make a big impact on the program.
