Nice article on the DePaul Basketball team this kid wrote back in February. Wish we could tag D'Avanzo on it!!
Enjoy that Leitoa contract extention. 🤣
@wood I think SIU is the favorite!
In the game yes but favorite ? As pathetic as DePaul is they are still in the Big East they are the favorites
In my opinion, D'Avanzo's choice is either he wants to win, or he wants to showcase his talent.
At SIU he can do both!!

or did some one else come in and shake some Booby's in his face?
Ha! Thanks for the laugh!

I am not sure if him delaying a day is a good or bad sign for SIU... How could we know?
Given how Chicago-centric of a staff this is, you’d think the roster would eventually have a bit more of an Illinois flavor to it, though recruiting the Chicago area is obviously highly competitive.
I hope Southern gets this guy but even if they do, still three additional open rides (four otherwise). I’m sure there’s a lot more activity going on then waiting on this decision.
I think he's from a Chicago burb, right? I can see why DePaul would be appealing to him.
Our son is a NCAA student athlete, D2, and a lot goes into a decision not just the “best” team. It’s not an easy decision for a student athlete. For the ones that will make a difference, it’s a 40 year decision not a 4 year decision.

My daughter is also a D1 athlete. Even though she ended up at one of her "dream" schools, when other schools starting offering, it became a very complicated and almost overwhelming decision for her. Many tears shed. She had better programs offer that she ultimately turned down. Size, location, academics, campus, dorms, majors, private/ public, family, team, coaches, conferences... I agree. Forty year decision.

Amen to that!

I'm unclear about the grad transfer rule as far as academics. Does the student athlete have to pursue a master's degree or can they pursue another bachelor's degree in another subject? What is D'Avanzo's degree in? We may or may not have a master's program he is interested in. I don't know. Just throwing this out for discussion.
